In this piece, I attempted to form a 3-D model using Ritchie's painting as inspiration. Basswood and pH glue were the only materials in my model. I used an X-acto knife, scissors, paper clips, string and cups to help me. I cut the shapes I wanted and soaked them in water. I worked the wood with my hands underwater and rolled them up inside cups. The water was drained and the wood dried. Also, I used string and paper clips to bind the pieces together as the wood dried. The paper clips helped bind the pieces together while the glue dried, too. Three 600watts light were used to photograph the model with a video camera. Postal packaging paper was placed on a glass table and lit from below and above the model. Click on the images for a closer look.
