| narrative is created and made by both author
and receiver. the moment of interaction creates a shared product, a shared
experience. this exercise in flash was my attempt at fostering a type of interactivity between the viewer and information i generate. having never worked in flash before, i first created very simple sketches. as part of my larger masters project, i have created four characters and monologues that each inhabit masculinity and a racialized asian american identity in different ways. this project is a character sketch of one of those characters, meant to provide a back story to her experiences and life. ultimately, this type of narrative is meant to be a suppliment to a separate performance to be completed in the summer. dean is a female-bodied person who often passes for male. she is both pensive and headstrong. she is looking for answers. will she find them? |
