between canvas and celluloid is an investigation of processes of image formation, interaction and registration. Shapes derived from oil paintings inspired by scientific imagery were isolated and painted onto celluloid. These images, when overlaid and set in motion, create something akin to bloodstreams and neural networks. Sewing directly onto and into celluloid produces marks and eruptions that serve as measuring devices for the movement of the first image sets. The audio includes sounds and hums from sewing machines of various vintages.
